Just Stop Oil Activist Covers Table

Students and Former Museum Worker Appear in Court

Play was disrupted at the World Snooker Championship after a Just Stop Oil protester climbed onto a table and covered it in black paint. The incident occurred during the match between Mark Williams and Yan Bingtao at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England.

The protester, identified as Louis McKechnie, was quickly apprehended by security and removed from the venue. The incident caused a brief delay to the match, but play resumed shortly afterwards.

McKechnie, 21, and a former museum worker, Emily Brocklebank, 23, appeared in court on charges related to the protest. They were both released on bail and are due to appear in court again next month.

The World Snooker Championship is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport. The incident has raised concerns about the security of the event and the potential for further protests.
