French Footballer Alexandre Lacazette Returns to Lyon

Lyon Native and Former Arsenal Forward Re-signs with Hometown Club

French international footballer Alexandre Lacazette has officially re-signed with his hometown club, Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon), after a five-year stint with Arsenal F.C. in the English Premier League.

Lacazette, 33, is a Lyon native and began his professional career with the club in 2010. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising young strikers in Europe, scoring over 100 goals in 275 appearances for Lyon before joining Arsenal in 2017.

During his time in London, Lacazette made 206 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 71 goals. He helped the club win the FA Cup in 2020 and was a key member of their squad that reached the Europa League final in 2019.

Lacazette's return to Lyon marks a significant moment for the club and the player himself. He joins a talented squad that includes Houssem Aouar, Rayan Cherki, and Anthony Lopes. Lyon finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season but will be hoping to challenge for a Champions League place with Lacazette's addition.
